A fire on the second floor of the fieldhouse, building "D" in May 1973 that burned through the corridor and roof but left the classrooms virtually untouched was attributed to arson. This photo shows the magnitude of the destruction and mess in the corridor caused by the fire and subsequent water damage. Firefighters at the end of the hall inspect the site looking for the cause of the fire.
